The President Welcomes Loved Ones of Injured National Guard Members to the White House

President Trump revealed on Sunday that he has invited the relatives of a Guard member tragically killed last week to visit the presidential home.

He added that he contacted her family and they were “devastated”.

Details on the Devastating Incident

Soldier Beckstrom, 20, was fatally shot in a shooting on last Wednesday in the nation's capital.

Her colleague, Staff Sgt Andrew Wolfe, twenty-four years old, is still in the hospital in grave state.

Memorials across West Virginia have taken place in their remembrance.

White House Call

The commander-in-chief stated he’s talked about a visit to the White House for the parents of both members of the West Virginia Guard.

“I stated: ‘When you’re ready, because that’s a tough thing, come to the White House. We’re going to pay tribute to her,” Trump told reporters. “And in the same way with Andrew, whether he recovers or not.”

Public Support

Attendees gathered over the weekend at a local school in the state to pay respects to Beckstrom.

Both the soldiers had been working with the West Virginia National Guard as part of the president’s national effort to support law enforcement in the capital.

Paying Tribute to Beckstrom

“Sarah was the type of pupil that teachers desired. She carried herself with quiet strength, a contagious smile and a positive energy that encouraged people around her,” the principal, the principal of her alma mater, told the media. “She was sweet, compassionate and always eager to help others.”

Funeral arrangements for Sarah are still being arranged.

Legal Steps and Policy Adjustments

Authorities have accused a 29-year-old Afghan national with one count of murder and two counts of violent assault while carrying a weapon.

The event prompted the government to halt refugee claims and halt granting entry permits to holders of passports from Afghanistan.

Status of Andrew Wolfe

Andrew Wolfe, a resident of the city, began his service in February 2019 and is a 2019 graduate of Musselman high school, as reported by the Associated Press.

He is still undergoing care and is “battling to survive”, West Virginia governor Morrisey stated on television.

The state’s top lawyer Pam Bondi informed the program that she planned to meet with the family.

Memory of the Fallen Soldier

Beckstrom, from her hometown, completed her education from Webster County High in mid-2023 and began her service not long after, serving as a MP with distinction, according to the state guard.

“She had a lot of kindness and she certainly had courage,” Morrisey told the gathering at the service. “Though her life ended too soon, she has left a mark that’s going to last forever.”
