Around 12 historical items have been formally restored to Ethiopia following being kept by a household from Germany for in excess of 100 years.

These treasures, originally acquired in the early twentieth century by the German representative to Ethiopia a German envoy and his spouse his partner, were transferred on midweek to the research center at the capital's university.

The set included crowns, armor and paintings, all considered as historically valuable in the country.

"The artefacts continue to serve as a mark of the long-standing and amicable ties between Germany and the Ethiopian people," said Germany's envoy, the ambassador to Ethiopia.

Dr. Ramon Wyss, whose father was delivered during the household's diplomatic posting in Ethiopia, presented the objects at a gathering attended by Tourism Minister the tourism official.

He stated that the household's intention to give back the treasures was to "showcase their splendor with the public and maintain the culture and history connected to my father's origin."

These artefacts were either gifts or purchases, according to the relatives.

"We want to express gratitude to the Weiss household for concretely expressing their profound appreciation for the nation by carefully safeguarding these artifacts and importantly guaranteeing their repatriation to their legitimate nation," commented the minister of tourism.

The minister continued that the items would in the near future be made accessible to the general audience for investigation and educational purposes, describing the action a significant step in safeguarding the nation's national treasures.

"Efforts are ongoing to return old items that are found in the hands of private persons and institutions throughout the globe," the minister stated.
