Declan Rice Deliveries on corner kicks and free-kicks were dangerous. Was given license to roam on the left only to be in an offside position when the ball arrived with a chance to score. Awarded a merited rest on the hour mark. 6/10

Jude Bellingham Played in an advanced role on the right and did plenty of defensive duties. Demonstrated flashes of quality but mishit an effort over. Substituted towards the end by Rogers, his rival, after receiving a caution. Seven

Jarrod Bowen Was presented with the team's top opening before halftime, his effort well saved from Thomas Strakosha. As a teammate hanging back, he had to provide width on the right but his crosses into the box were inconsistent. Taken off with 15 to go. Six

The captain The difference-maker scoring two more strikes for his country. His first a typical close-range tap-in and the second a superb headed goal after peeling away away from the opposition. Now 32, he’s only getting better and England have every chance next summer with him leading the line. 8/10

Eberechi Eze Found it tough to make an impact on the left flank. Had a decent opportunity when set up by the midfielder yet Strakosha kept it out. His replacement made much more of an impact when substituted. 5
