Soccer Expert Sutton Battles Artist Olly Murs in Top Flight Forecasts

Arsenal's 10-game winning streak was ended by Sunderland prior to the global break, however can the Premier League frontrunners bounce back against local foes Tottenham this Sunday?

"{I believe like Arsenal are light years ahead of Tottenham currently but Spurs manager Thomas Frank will have a plan for this game," remarked football specialist Chris Sutton.

"Frank will try to nullify Arsenal, who have not always been at their scintillating finest this campaign - but Mikel Arteta's side typically still manage to win."

The analyst is making predictions for all 380 Premier League games this season, against AI, fans and a range of guests.

In the twelfth round, he faces performer Olly Murs, who is a Manchester United supporter.

The singer's new record, Knees Up, is out on Friday.

Football and Parenting Life

Murs is a skilled soccer player as well as a accomplished singer and has been a featured player of multiple Soccer Aid matches over time - but he is not planning a serious return as a player.

"{I recently played in a benefit match the other evening for a friend of mine," he said. "My side was trailing 3-1 when I was substituted in the second half, and they went on to win 4-3, so you can read into that what you will!

"I continue to love football, but I injured my knee a few years ago and it even now isn't where I want it to be. I hope I could play more but the uncertainty of the sport means it's too dangerous for me in my profession to do it seriously again.

"Plus I am forty-one now, and we are not all Cristiano Ronaldo, are we!? No, I am very content not playing football and I am gearing up for the time that my child or son decides to play instead."

Murs and his wife his partner have a young family, Madison and Albert, and he is prepared to emulate his dad by taking on the role of their coach.

"I will not push football on our children but I've previously told my wife that if they do get the passion for it then I will have to go and get my coaching badges - and I will probably be coaching their Saturday football side," he added.

"I observed my nephews play a lot, and I truly got into it, and I clearly was involved with a football club for a period too.

"My dad did it with us when I was a kid, which is likely where I get it from. He coached our side for several seasons and had a wonderful time with it. That could be the future for me as well, and I am looking forward to it!"

Premier League Predictions

Saturday, 22 November

  • Turf Moor, 12:30 GMT

Chelsea might have to wait a bit longer for Cole Palmer's return from fitness issues but their offense is already more potent with Joao Pedro and Delap both back fit.

I still think this game will be quite tight, though. The Clarets are disciplined and their only at Turf Moor defeats so far have been against Liverpool and Arsenal.

This smells of a one-all tie to me, but I am in fact going to go with Chelsea to win narrowly for what would be their third Premier League win in a row.

Sutton's prediction: 1-2

Olly's prediction: The Blues will be too strong. 1-3

Artificial intelligence's outlook: 0-2

  • Vitality Stadium, 15:00 GMT

Bournemouth have lost their past two matches - albeit both of them were on the road - but they got thoroughly beaten by Aston Villa last time out which shocked me.

On the other hand, West Ham secured two in a row before the hiatus and, although both of those games were at their stadium, they appear competitive again.

The Hammers' only on the road victory this campaign came at Forest in the summer, when their boss Nuno Espirito Santo was previously that team's coach.

So, what exactly do I go with here - will it be West Ham extending their streak under Nuno, or the home side responding?

I will go with Bournemouth, because I think what occurred against Villa was a blip.

The pundit's prediction: 2-0

The guest's prediction: The home team are doing well but West Ham have picked up under Nuno. 2-2

AI's pick: 1-1

  • Amex Stadium, 15:00 GMT

Brentford were considered one of the frontrunners for the drop before the campaign started, but they have surprised a several observers under their manager and are in good form with three in their last four games.

A family member told me to select Bees forward Thiago in my Fantasy Football team a few weeks back and, unfortunately, I ignored the advice.

Thiago will probably score again on the weekend but I am still not going to select him or support the away side at Amex Stadium.

The Bees have not had great fortune on the travel this term, and Brighton are consistently strong at home. The visitors will try to attack on the break but I feel Fabian Hurzeler's team pose much more of a danger.

The analyst's forecast: 2-1

The singer's view: This could be a match where you think there is going to be a many goals but it in reality proves to be quite tight. 1-1

The computer's outcome: 2-1

  • Craven Cottage, 15:00 GMT

It is a massive game for Fulham, who have lost five of their last six matches.

They have got lots of quality in their squad but it still feels like they could be sucked into a relegation fight.

Regarding the Black Cats, well they are the unexpected success of the Premier League campaign so far.

The away side's display in the 2-2 tie with the Gunners last time out was superb. We have not witnessed anyone else rough up the North London side like that this term, and Sunderland were more than a match for them.

The sensible thing would be to back the visitors here, because they are clearly able of disrupting the hosts up too and, the previous occasion they were in this part of London, they beat Chelsea at the end of last month.

But I am not going to choose that. Rather, I really need to continue opposing the away team with my predictions. I am taking a lot of responsibility for their good outcomes because they evidently love to prove me wrong.

Considering the home side's home record, the only team they have lost to is the league leaders. Marco Silva's side will be extremely eager for a good outcome, so I am going to predict they will secure three much-needed points.

The expert's forecast: 1-0

Olly's prediction: I'm aware Sunderland are performing strongly and additionally that Fulham are on a bad streak... but they have still been respectable at home this season. 2-0

The algorithm's outlook: 2-0

  • Anfield, 15:00 GMT

This is a hard one to call. Liverpool have lost seven of their last ten matches in every tournament, but might they be one of the teams who benefit from the {international break|
